Purification Mala With Lotus Seeds, Turquoise, Cuprite, Red Rosewood & Tibetan Amulet
I love this mala. Why is that? Apart from the fact I usually love all malas, in this particular instance, this one spent it’s time teaching me lessons, namely the lesson of patience for which I am very grateful. It has in the past not been one of my strengths, but I am pleased to say that I am recognising a definite improvement in this area and as such behold this mala with having a great sense of wiseness or teachings to give.
This mala though in my home right now is destined for far greater journeys and I look forward to hearing how this very special custom piece holds it’s moments of stillness with it’s to be Owner.
This mala was ‘birthed’ after the Harvest Moon, yet still took it’s journey right up to the Hunter’s moon after which it seemed to blossom and just after that ever so bright and magnificent full moon we just had became complete. I sang with the knotting of each bead the Om Benza Satto Hung (Purification) mantra which resonated well.
This is the first time I have worked with the lotus seed, but it definitely will not be the last, it holds such beauty, each one different with a hypnotising myriad of darker dots that flow over the cream to white coloured seeds.
A little bit about the Lotus Seed ~ Like the lotus flower which grows and beautifully blooms in muddy water, the lotus seed symbolizes spiritual growth and the ability to rise above obstacles on the path to spiritual enlightenment. Lotus seed also promotes spiritual and material prosperity.
I also used Red Rosewood on the back half of this mala, creating a yin/yang effect between the two spiritually renowned beads.
A little bit about Rosewood ~
- Physical- The scent of rosewood play a huge part in the healing properties it displays, which is released and awakened more with age. Its scent is used for nervousness, headaches, and frigidity. It also helps to boost the immune system because it calms the individual. Wearing the jewelry on a skin irritation also has the ability to help heal the area.
- Spiritual- Associated with the heart chakra, rosewood is a compassionate and healing feminine energy; that doesn’t mean that it’s only for women! It just means it helps to accent the innate qualities of compassion and love within an individual. The feminine grace is enhanced when wearing rosewood, and intuitive health is also given a boost.
I also used turquoise as the guru bead at the bottom, the Tibetan amulet having been chosen by it’s to be Owner.
Turquoise ~ The Physical Healing Powers of Turquoise. As a healing stone, Turquoise is among the crystal healing master stones. A Buddhist belief involving this stone is that “Buddha once destroyed a monster with the aid of a magic turquoise” (Rankine 347). Melody writes of Turquoise that, “It has been esteemed by the Tibetan shamen, as holding both a spiritual and protective property. It has been used in Shamanic ceremonies and in the sacred valley of Shambhala” (LIITE 669). Also written of Turquoise is that, “In China and Tibet, turquoise has long been worn as a protective amulet, and in a jewelry format as a sign of wealth” (Lilly 107).
Cuprite ~ Cuprite’s energies will make you feel vital, secure, and supported. It will open and activate your base chakra so that your life force energy will flow freely.
It will increase your energy and support your physical wellbeing. It will also help you keep a handle on your thoughts and emotions.
Cuprite is a stone that will keep stress at bay. When things at work or at home get unmanageable, you can count on this stone’s energies to calm you down and take away your worries.
The energies of Cuprite will give you the courage to let your creativity manifest. You will desire the highest good for yourself and the people who most matter to you.
Cuprite will give you support when you’re feeling disconnected to this life. It will remind you that there are ups and downs in life, but they’re all just temporary.
You don’t have to be a spectator of your own life. You can take charge of your life and make it as meaningful as possible!
Warm blessings to you all, Justine xxx
