Marley Mala Born Of The Strawberry Full Moon, Moonstone & Lava Rock
I had a lot of fun and joy making this mala combining grounding Lava Rock, Silk, Glass & Wood with Lotus Beads encapsulating little Moonstones as well as the Guru bead being Moonstone.
The dark bead you will see are Lava Rock, so let’s tell you a little bit about this:
Lava stone doesn’t really have the “look” of something that is healing, but for centuries it has been used to do exactly that. When thinking of lava stones, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s origin plays a key role in its energetic qualities.
- Emotional- Since lava is known for its grounding qualities, it’s wonderful for calming the emotions. In fact, the quality of fire springs from the ground, so in terms of healing gems, this lends itself to a calming- but intense- energy. Because it comes from raw energy, it’s considered to be a stone of rebirth and shedding unneeded layers of emotional attachment.
- Spiritual- Lava stones are fantastic for stabilizing and grounding the root chakra. This is because of the strong connection to the earth and its creation within the center of Earth. In folk remedies, it was also given to soldiers to help them remain calm during battle.
- Root Chakra
The mysterious moonstone has been used for centuries in a variety of cultures. Being a perfect expression of the yin feminine energy and the soothing energy of the moon, the moonstone is the bringer of calm, peace and balance.
The tranquillity that the moonstone generates has a sensual, other-worldly quality to it; it is infused with an enchanting, soft glow of deep vitality and creative energy. It is not a passive state, but rather a glowing healing energy of renewal that can envelop you like warm healing waters and help let go of negative energies.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF MOONSTONE?
The meaning of moonstone is in its energy – a very nourishing, sensual, deeply feminine energy that knows how to heal and bring you back to wholeness. It is the stone of the mother moon, deep healing waters and sacred feminine energies.
With its high energy rays of purple, gold and blue colours, the mysterious moonstone is always enveloped in a shimmering white energy; this makes it a very protective stone.
WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF MOONSTONE?
Moonstone is a master healer for women – it brings soothing, healing calm energy and helps regain back your power and inner balance.
If you wear your moonstone often, you will also start receiving insights as to how you are mistreating your personal energy and how to learn to love and heal yourself. It can bring insights into the powerful mysteries of true female power and the essence of all healing.
The milky moon, the motherly energy, the peaceful cocooning in healing silence, the bringer of soothing calm and gathering your power back – all these properties are attributed to the beautiful and mysterious moonstone.
The clearer the moonstone is and the more colourful its glow, the more healing are its energy properties.

What is a mala?
Just to briefly introduce you to malas if you are new to them.
A mala is a strand of beads, traditionally used for counting during mantra meditations. Malas can consist of 108 beads, 54 beads, 27 beads, 21 or 19 beads. Malas have been used since at least the 10th century as a meditation aid. They allow us to focus the mind on a single pointed task as we work through our meditation. If you practice meditation and yoga, a mala can be a powerful tool in your quest for wellness and clearer understanding.
This particular mala has a quarter divider indicated by the bright wooden beads, then half, then a quarter for anyone who wishes to have the flexibility of varying the amount they chant.
What is a mantra?
Mantras go hand in hand with a mala, so let me tell you briefly about those incase you are just touching base with this wonderful way of healing.
A mantra is a word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid in your concentration while meditating.
When using a mantra, it’s believed that only the positive intentions and actions will fill your mind and eliminate negativity.
A mantra can be as simple as the word ‘love,’ something you are thankful for, or a phrase such as ‘om shanti, shanti, shanti’ which represents all encompassing peace. You can also meditate on an affirmation, such as ‘I accept myself.’
Many people are fortunate enough to be gifted a mantra from a teacher or guru.
However, you can choose a mantra for yourself depending on what you are needing in life. While choosing a mantra, you should consider your inner motivations for practising meditation.
Whether you’re looking for positivity, health, happiness, self love, or if you simply want to find balance.
