Chakra Activation Workshop Series – Day 5 – Base Chakra, Root Chakra, Muladhara
Grounding The Root Chakra
We covered in the previous post about the concept of how important it is to be grounded and roughly what that means, but how can we achieve it?
Description Of How To Ground & Activity
Stand or sit with your spine straight and your body relaxed yet balanced. Do not cross your legs or arms.
Begin by becoming aware of your breathing and it’s rhythm, let it slow down.
When you draw breath in, imagine it being drawn from just above the crown of your head down through the centre of your body, breathe out when it becomes natural, no forcing. When you breathe out imagine the breath moving right down, through your legs and in to the earth.
When you next breathe which will be inwards, breathe up from the earth, through the centre of your body, letting the out breath go through your crown.
Continue to breathe like this as long as feels comfortable, ending on an out breath.
Take a moment if your eyes have been closed, open them, sense how different you might feel.
Congratulate yourself on having just completed a grounding technique.
To make the above exercise more intense, you can find a suitable tree to lean against with your feet perhaps naked on the actual earth.
You can then visualize yourself as a tree, branches stretching out and the roots going deep down into the ancient earth. Your trunk is strong and nurtured by the four elements. Sun warms you, earth provides living water, breathe through your branches from the air and sun. Take the breath right down through your trunk and in to the earth. When you breathe in take the air up from the earth, up your trunk to spread through your branches and out to the air and sun.
How did you get on with this activity? I love practicing grounding.
Until tomorrow, Justine xxx
